We are shipping fortified food to refugees. Many are women and children. Many are persecuted Christians.
WHERE: Our food goes directly to Iraq. The US Air Force transports the food in its humanitarian aid space available program. Our partners distribute the food to the people in the camps. Almost 1 million meals have already been sent to Iraq.
WHY: Jesus says, “As you did for the least of these, you did for me.” These women and children are the population most at risk in war and terror. Our help provides the best opportunities and hope for them to go home someday.
HOW: Global Samaritan has direct relationships with food providers in the United States. We negotiate huge shipments of fortified rice meals (285,000 servings) or soup mix (1,000,000 bowls). Our partners in Iraq are engaged in long-term sustainable work. Together we are making a big difference.
WHEN: Our team went to Iraq to visit refugee camps where our food is being distributed. It is important for us to meet and know all our partners. Our goal is to send more food in the coming months.
WHO:You and me. Good people often feel powerless. We ask, “Is there something I can do?” “Can I make a difference?” Together we can answer both of those questions: YES!
A one time donation of $50 = feeds a family of six for one month!
$10 a month = $120 a year, feeds that same family more than two months!
$20 a month = $240 a year, feeds that same family for almost half a year!
$50 a month = $600 a year, you provide food for that family of six for an entire year!
I asked, “Why doesn’t somebody do something?”
Then I realized I am somebody.
