The GSR mission was supported last year by an average of 3,000 volunteer hours.
That is a value of almost $84,000!
Volunteers come to Global Samaritan for many reasons:
a passion for our mission; group projects; summer mission trips;
or to support one of our various fundraising initiatives.
Multiple case studies have reported that volunteering has also been shown to protect your mental and physical health. It can reduce stress, combat depression, keep you mentally stimulated, and provide a sense of purpose. While it's true that the more you volunteer, the more benefits you'll experience, volunteering doesn't have to involve a long-term commitment or take a huge amount of time out of your busy day.
IF YOU HAVE JUST 2-HOURS A WEEK, OR ONE DAY A MONTH, OR ANY OTHER AVAILABLE TIME COMMITMENT, YOU CAN MAKE A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT AT GLOBAL SAMARITAN RESOURCES.
Volunteers at Global can be found:
Shelving books in our book room
Sorting inventory in our warehouse
Helping prepare loads for shipment
Working on special events committees
Maintaining our facilities and our grounds
Performing administrative duties in our offices
Serving on our Board of Trustees
... and performing a number of other tasks that keep the GSR mission moving forward.
